Everyone knows who Santa Claus is, but do you know what a Substitute Santa is? It’s when generous folks like you step forward to make a brighter holiday for kids in need in our community! Last year, your generosity brought holiday cheer to hundreds of children and teens served by Child Saving Institute, and we need your help again.
The 2011 Substitute Santa program coordinated by the CSI Guild, needs your help providing holiday gifts for the children and teens in the CSI emergency shelter and other services including Foster Care and the Young Parents Program. If you would like to make a difference for kids this holiday season, please consider donating Gift Cards. Gift Cards are easy to buy, easy for CSI to store and they help ensure equity among the children and teens served by CSI. Cash donations are also always appreciated and allow the staff to purchase clothing and other essentials for kids—especially for hard-to-shop-for teens—whose families are experiencing tough times.
- Bring or mail your gift cards to CSI by December 7th;
- Shop from the list of items below prepared by CSI’s staff;
- If you choose to purchase gifts, please bring your gifts unwrapped with all tags intact to CSI December 5th – 7th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Please note, gifts must be brought to CSI by December 7th to allow sufficient time to distribute them before the holidays);
- Make an on-line donation.
Because the children and youth in CSI’s care come from many different backgrounds, we choose to celebrate the holidays with traditional Santa gift sharing. Whatever holiday you celebrate personally— Christmas, Hanukah, the winter solstice or Kwanza—helping CSI’s kids have a happy holiday and childhood is a big job and we absolutely couldn’t do it without you! Thank you for your support and thank you for being part of our CSI family this holiday season and all year long.
For more information on how you can participate or if bringing a large number of gifts, please call Substitute Santa’s “Lead Elf,” Cali, at 402.504.3661.
