36.5 Million people moved in 2012! PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU WERE ONE OF THEM! The following statistics have been reported by AMSA and taken from the US Census Bureau’s “Geographical Mobility 2012” and “State to State Migration Flows 2011-12.”
Here are a few of the highlights:
· The nation’s overall mover rate increased from a record low of 11.6 percent in 2011 to 12 percent in 2012.
· About 36.5… million people moved in 2012, up from 35.1 in 2011.
· The most common distance for intercounty movers was less than 50 miles (40.2 percent of the 11.8 million intercounty movers).
· The top five state-to-state moves in 2011 were New York to Florida, California to Texas, California to Arizona, Florida to Georgia and New Jersey to New York.
